| Our solar system is very very small as compared to our universe. The distances of stars seen in the sky are so huge that they hardly appear changing their positions in the celestial sphere even in thousands of years. In other words the celestial sphere appears like a black hollow sphere on which is stars are fixed on its surface from inside. | According to Indian Astrology, the sign(rasi) in which Moon is sitting at the time of birth, is called the sign(rasi) of that person, however, western astrology gives more importance to Sun, Hence, as per Western Astrology, the risi(sign) in which Sun is sitting at the time of birth is called the sign(rasi) of that person. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The starting point of the zodiac is start of first sign(rasi) i.e. Mesh(Aries). In Nirayan System this point is fixed with stars. While in the Sayan sytem this point is moved with change in the inclination of zodiac. Rate of change in this inclination is very slow. It takes 72 years to move 1 degree. Indian Astrology follows Narayan System while west follows Sayan system. At present there is around 23 degree difference beteen the two systems.
